钱宝钧纤维材料奖设立背景介绍
The Background of QIAN Baojun Fiber Award
钱宝钧先生(1907-1996) 是中国纤维材料研究和教育的奠基人，也曾是华东纺织工学院（东华大学前身）的校长，在纤维材料科学领域做出了杰出贡献。根据他的遗嘱，存款用以资助东华大学学生。因此学校成立钱宝钧基金会，以管理该基金。
Mr. QIAN Baojun (1907-1996) is the founder ofFiber Research and Education in P. R. China. He was also the president of East China Institute ofTextile Science and Technology (former name ofDonghua University).According to his testament, his savings was used to financially support students in Donghua University, and hence the University set up QIAN Baojun Foundation to manage the fund.
为了纪念、传承钱宝钧先生的事业和精神，促进纤维材料领域的可持续发展，纤维材料改性国家重点实验室（东华大学）发起并设立“钱宝钧纤维材料奖”，以表彰在纤维材料领域基础研究、成果转化和人才培养等方面做出创造性突出贡献的国内外学者。由钱宝钧纤维材料奖基金邀请纤维材料科学研究领域的国内外知名专家组成国际评审委员会，进行遴选。目前，纤维和纺织领域的诸多公司和机构都向该基金捐赠，以支持钱宝钧纤维材料奖。
For memorizing Mr. QIAN Baojun, State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials（Donghua University）, decide to establish QIAN Baojun Fiber Award to recognize the contribution in Fiber Science and Technology. QIAN Baojun Foundation is in charge of selection of the award winners. Up to now, there many companies in fiber and textile area donate to QIAN Baojun Foundation for Fiber Award.
钱宝钧纤维材料奖每两年评选一次，包括“杰出贡献奖”和“青年学者奖”，奖励纤维材料相关科学领域的杰出科学家和优秀青年学者。
QIAN Baojun Fiber Award will be selected and awarded every two years. It includes Distinguished Achievement Award and Young Scholar Award, which will be rewarded to distinguished scientists and excellent young scholars in the field of fiber related sciences.
“杰出贡献奖”：评选范围限定在纤维材料与工程方面的基础研究或应用基础研究工作中，发现重要科学现象、特性和规律，并阐明科学理论和学说，在基础研究、成果转化和人才培养等方面做出创造性突出贡献的国内外学者。获奖者将获得荣誉证书和10,000 美元奖励。
Distinguished Achievement Award: The winner should have recognized distinguished professional achievement in basic or applied fiber science. A certificate and USD 10,000 will be conferred.
“青年学者奖”：评选范围限定在纤维材料科学与工程领域有初期成就、发展潜力的国内外青年学者（年龄不满 45 周岁）。获奖者将获得荣誉证书和3000 美元奖励。
Young Scholar Award: The winner should be younger than 45, active in fiber science，and have done excellent work in the science, engineering, and technology of fibers, fiber-based materials and devices. A certificate and USD 3,000 will be conferred.
